NACEP Workshop with Iowa Community Colleges

More than 50 college administrators and concurrent enrollment managers, representing all 15 Iowa Community Colleges, met with NACEP representatives on May 6, 2010 for a day-long training covering NACEP standards and accreditation process. The training was requested by the Iowa Department of Education and the colleges’ Chief Academic Officers Council, in response to new policies requiring Iowa’s community college concurrent enrollment programs to become NACEP-accredited (see the NACEP Winter 2010 Newsletter). NACEP President Ted Ungricht, Accreditation Committee Chair Jan Erickson, and former member of NACEP’s Board of Directors Ted Leahey discussed each standard, best practices for implementing each, and shared pointers on how to successfully navigate the accreditation process.
