NACEP Hires Its First Executive Secretary

While NACEP is still a very young organization to many, it has experienced a rapid increase in members, conference attendees, accreditation applications, and state policy influence in recent years. To help its all-volunteer Board and committees strengthen the organization, NACEP recently contracted with Adam Lowe as its first Executive Secretary. The founder of Saffron Ventures, an education consulting firm, Adam brings ten years of education policy and program development experience to his new role as NACEP’s Executive Secretary.

Adam was first introduced to NACEP through his work on high school transformation with the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis. His work supporting Early College High Schools and advocating for improvements in dual credit policy brought him into regular communication with a number of Indiana concurrent enrollment programs (CEPs). Since Indiana based its dual credit policy on the NACEP standards and mandates that CEPs at public postsecondary institutions obtain NACEP accreditation, Adam saw the impact that NACEP can have first-hand. “I was very aware and impressed by NACEP,” said Lowe. “I saw the critical role that NACEP’s standards had in setting a high bar for quality concurrent enrollment programs, and witnessed the positive effect that membership in NACEP had for programs in Indiana.”

Having worked with a wide range of educators including teachers, principals, superintendents, university officials, Adam is ready to assist NACEP in continuing to improve quality and raise the organization’s profile at a state and national level. “When conversations are happening about CEPs, we want NACEP to be the first place people turn to for information,” said Lowe. Adam will also be assisting the Board in managing the organization and developing practices and procedures that the organization can rely on for years to come. “NACEP’s members have created a strong and vibrant organization over the last decade, and at this juncture the organization is well-poised to grow exponentially in its reach and impact. I am eager to be part of that transition and to help make it happen,” said Lowe.

Adam is a graduate of Brown University and received his Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University.
