New Staff Position at NACEP Filled
NACEP is pleased to announce that Adam Lowe has accepted a new full-time staff position as Executive Secretary to start in mid-March. Lowe has been serving temporarily in a similar capacity under an independent contract with NACEP since October 2009. In December 2010 a search committee of the Board of Directors initiated a competitive process to fill the new position. 240 applications were received and reviewed and 4 applicants were interviewed.
“Adam has the skills, dedication and talent we need to move NACEP forward as the national voice of concurrent enrollment,” says Lynn Burbank, president of NACEP.
Of his decision to accept, Lowe says, “I am excited to devote my full attention to NACEP and help implement the vision that the Board articulated in the recently-adopted Strategic Plan. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the organization in a part-time consulting capacity over the past 16 months, during which I have learned an incredible amount from the many dedicated volunteers who are the essence of the organization. I see great potential over the next few years for NACEP to dramatically raise the profile of concurrent enrollment and support the continual improvement of its members’ programs, and am ready to assist NACEP as it continues to do what it does best – promoting high standards and quality concurrent enrollment programs.”
Lowe is a graduate of Brown University and received his Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University. He brings more than ten years of education policy and program development experience to his role as NACEP’s Executive Secretary including a focus on dual credit programs, early college high schools, and high school transformation through his work with the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning at the University of Indianapolis.
