NACEP Accreditation Commission Record of Decisions – April 2018
April 2018
In accordance with NACEP's commitment to public disclosure and the Accreditation Commission's Policy and Procedures Manual, this Record of Decision documents the formal actions taken by the NACEP Accreditation Commission at its spring meeting beginning April 16, 2018, and ending April 17, 2018, with regard to concurrent enrollment programs that applied for NACEP accreditation during the 2017-18 application cycle. Programs Granted Initial Accreditation
The following programs were found to be in compliance with all 17 of NACEP's accreditation standards and were granted initial accreditation for a period of seven academic years:
- Alexandria Technical and Community College (Alexandria, MN), Concurrent Enrollment Program
- Community College of Denver (Denver, CO), College Pathways Program
- Eastern Washington University (Cheney, WA), EWU in the High School Program
- Inver Hills Community College (Inver Grove Heights, MN), InCollege Program
- Mineral Area College (Park Hills, MO), Mineral Area Dual Credit Program
- West Virginia State University (Institute, WV), Yellow Jacket Connection Program
- Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (Valdosta, GA), Dual Enrollment Program
To maintain accreditation, these programs are required to continue implementing all practices identified in NACEP's standards and complete an annual report of activities.
Programs Granted Reaccreditation
The following programs currently holding NACEP accreditation were found to be in compliance with all 17 of NACEP's accreditation standards and were granted renewed accreditation for a period of seven academic years:
- Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), Advance College Project Program
- Pennsylvania College of Technology (Williamsport, PA), Penn College NOW Program
- Portland State University (Portland, OR), Challenge Program
- Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY), Project Advance Program
- University of Missouri-Saint Louis (Saint Louis, MO), Advanced Credit Program
To maintain accreditation, these programs are required to continue implementing all practices identified in NACEP's standards and complete an annual report of activities.
Programs Granted Reaccreditation after One-Year Extension
The following program currently holding NACEP accreditation were found to be in compliance with all 17 of NACEP's accreditation standards and were granted the rest of their accreditation period:
- Minnesota State University-Mankato (Mankato, MN), Concurrent Enrollment Program
To maintain accreditation, this program is required to continue implementing all practices identified in NACEP's standards and complete an annual report of activities.
Program Granted One-Year Extension
The following programs currently holding NACEP accreditation were found to be in compliance with the majority of NACEP's 17 accreditation standards and was granted an extension of the current accreditation term through the end of the 2018-19 academic year with monitoring by the Accreditation Commission:
- Hudson Valley Community College (Troy, NY), School Programs and Educational Outreach
- Indiana University Purdue University-Fort Wayne (Fort Wayne, IN), Collegiate Connection
- Niagara University (Niagara, NY), NUSTEP
To earn full reaccreditation, the programs must demonstrate significant progress on one or more unmet standards by September 3, 2018, and submit all final evidence demonstrating consistent implementation of the identified standards by March 4, 2019.
Programs Denied Initial Accreditation
The following programs failed to demonstrate that they are in compliance with all 17 of NACEP's accreditation standards and their applications for initial accreditation were denied:
- Riverland Community College (Austin, MN), Concurrent Enrollment
- Southeast Missouri State University (Cape Girardeau, MO), Dual Credit
Programs Denied Reaccreditation
The following program failed to demonstrate that they are in compliance with all 17 of NACEP's accreditation standards and their application for reaccreditation was denied:
- Rio Salado College (Tempe,AZ), Dual Enrollment
Programs Whose Accreditation Term Has Lapsed
In addition to the programs that were denied reaccreditation, the following programs currently holding NACEP accreditation allowed their accreditation to lapse at the end of the 2017-18 academic year:
- Dutchess Community College (Poughkeepsie, NY), College Connection
- Finger Lakes Community College (Canandaigua, NY), Gemini Program
- The University of Findlay (Findlay, OH), College Credit Plus
Appeals
Within sixty (60) days after receiving notification of an adverse accrediting action, a concurrent enrollment program may request reconsideration of or appeal any decision of the Accreditation Commission.

Victoria Zeppelin, Tompkins Cortland Community College (Chair), Deanna Jessup, Indiana University (Vice-Chair), Katie Bucci, SUNY Broome Community College (Two-Year Representative), Jeff Murphy, Northeast Iowa Community College (Two-Year Representative), Bretton DeLaria, Saint Louis University (Four-Year Representative), Chelsie Rauh, Idaho State University (Four-Year Representative), Christina Parish, Syracuse University (Private Institution Representative), Robie Cornelious, Jacksonville, Florida (External Member), Adam Lowe, NACEP Executive Director (Ex-Officio, Non-voting), Jennie Patteson, NACEP Director of Accreditation and Member Services (Ex-Officio, Non-voting), Diana Johnson (Guest, Incoming Commissioner), Connie Poteet (Guest, Incoming Commissioner), and Corey Rosso (Guest, Consultant). Commissioners recused themselves from specific votes in accordance with the Commission's conflict of interest policy.
