NACEP is pleased to offer a unique professional development opportunity through our Network Engagement Series.  This series of webinars is designed to help you grow, strengthen, and empower the networks and partnerships vital to your work. The University of Kansas’ Christina Holt will lead three topical sessions focused on different aspects of network engagement critical to your work. Each session will highlight resources from the Community Toolbox  an extensive library of community-building resources focused on growing sustainability and impact through partnership.  
Each webinar will cover a topic related to network engagement. 
Understanding Advocacy
Advocacy is defined as any action that speaks in favor of, recommends, argues for a cause, supports or defends, or pleads on behalf of others. This can include building power at the base, providing encouragement and education to legislators, educating the public, conducting advocacy research, organizing a rally, regulatory efforts, voter mobilization, and lobbying. 
In pursuing our goals for partnerships, we may need to advocate to bring about or preserve programs, policies, and practices related to the group’s mission. In this module, lessons address different types of advocacy, and what it takes to get an advocacy effort off the ground.
