Important Announcement Regarding WRC & COVID-19
03/23/2020
Every year, we look forward to connecting with our colleagues and community, we were excited to do so in Las Vegas on May 21st and 22nd. However, given the growing concerns around COVID-19, including strong warnings related to travel and meetings, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s regional conference.
As we previously shared, we have closely monitored reports and guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as information provided by other expert sources. Our primary concern has been, and will always remain, the health and safety of our members, staff and other participants. This is an unprecedented health emergency which we must all take very seriously and act to protect the health of our community.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support.
Please see below for answers to questions you may have regarding refunds for pre-paid registration and other arrangements for the event.

NACEP In-Conference Advising Workshop
As the number of students participating in dual enrollment courses continues to increase, the supports provided to these students have rightly gained increased attention. In response, NACEP’s Accreditation Commission revised the 2017 accreditation standards to include an explicit section on student advising. The rationale behind the revision is to ensure that accredited programs are providing students access to this critical service. This full-day workshop is specifically designed to provide programs at all levels valuable lessons and information related to student advising that can be incorporated into their existing student supports. The program will motivate the topic by discussing the need for student advising within concurrent and dual enrollment programs as it directly relates to the student experience and success. Topics covered will include program implementation and structure, advisor expectations, training and functions. The NACEP Advising Workshop is being run as part of the Western Conference on May 22. You must register for the conference in order to sign-up for this exciting free in-conference event. If you have already registered for the conference and wish to add this to your registration, please email information@nacep.org. Space is limited.
